This vibrant copper-rose rosé opens with inviting aromas of Rainier cherry, ripe strawberry, cranberry, and fresh white peach. Light to medium in body with a subtle touch of sweetness, it offers a crisp, refreshing palate layered with flavours of red berries, peach, watermelon, and tart cranberry. Hints of rhubarb, cranberry, and stone fruit carry through to a lively, lingering finish.

Winemaking
At Gray Monk we have three blocks of Rotberger, planted in 1978, 1996 and 2000. Rotberger is a German red wine grape, a cross of Riesling and Trollinger produced at Geisenheim in 1928. The Rotberger grapes were harvested in late September from our own estate vineyard. After three hours of skin contact to develop a bright copper pink colour, the juice was pressed off the skins, and given a cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks. To maximize the fruit flavours, strict temperature control was employed during the fermentation process.
